VAT Registration in UAE
VAT (Value Added Tax) registration in the UAE is a legal requirement for businesses whose taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 annually. The registration process is handled through the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) portal, and businesses are required to submit relevant documentation, such as trade licenses, turnover details, and banking information. Voluntary registration is available for businesses with taxable supplies between AED 187,500 and AED 375,000, helping companies reclaim input VAT on expenses. After registration, businesses must charge 5% VAT on applicable goods and services, issue tax invoices, and maintain accurate records for VAT audits. Regular VAT returns must be submitted, and failure to comply with VAT regulations can result in penalties, including fines or legal action.
